The fastest way to reach us is through the discussions on this site. Every guide and article has a comments section at the bottom — leave your question, correction or tip there and we'll pick it up.
We read every comment. If you've spotted an error in one of our guides, tell us which page and what's wrong and we'll check it against the official sources. If you have a practical suggestion — a cheaper way to build the kit, a local scheme worth knowing about — share it there too. Useful reader tips often end up folded back into the guides, credited to the community.
A few things to know before you post:
- We can't give personal emergency advice. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999. For non-emergency police matters in the UK, call 101.
- We can't help with Priority Services Register applications directly — sign up at thepsr.co.uk or contact your energy or water supplier, who can register you over the phone.
- We don't publish personal details. Don't post your address, phone number or account numbers in a comment.
We don't run a public email inbox for this site — on-site discussion keeps everything visible, so one good answer helps every reader who had the same question.
For anything urgent, don't wait for a reply here. In a live emergency, call 999. For official campaign information, go straight to beready.campaign.gov.uk. For problems with your gas, electricity or water supply, contact your supplier directly — and if anyone in your home might need extra help during an outage, check our Priority Services Register guide first.
